Acoma Pueblo, the Sky City ranks amongst the must visit places in the United States. The city is home to the oldest native tribe dwellers of the United States. Built on the massive sandstone mesa valley, this 70-acre site is around 7,000 feet above the sea level. Since the pre-historic age, Acoma Pueblo's elevated site was utilized for defense against enemies. But, the site earned its due recognition when it was visited by Francisco Vaques de Cornado's army in 1540; the first white man to enter the Acoma Sky City. The place was named after its traits. Pueblo Acoma literally connotes the 'White Rock Mesa inhabitants in their defensive position'. The must visit locations of the Acoma Pueblo are The Cultural Centre, The Haak'u Museum, The Enchanted Mesa, San Esteban Del Rey Mission, the Casinos and restaurants.
