Mystical Destination Moon
"Much have I travelled in the realms of gold." Keats may have had the wish to go beyond the world of gold, guns and gospel. But, in the early nineteenth century none could even think of going outside the earth, except in fiction and poetry. And it was within just a century and a half that this unthinkable and unimaginable subject became a reality. Man travelled through the space and landed on moon-the most mystic destination one can ever set out for.
For thousands of years, Destination Moon has been the object of interest for many people. Moon has been a key subject of literature, mythology and visual art for centuries and millennia. Almost every civilization in the world has woven stories, legends, poetry, and mythology about moon. With the progression of mankind and technology, the depictions of moon in different forms of art became more and more intricate and the means of Journey to the Moon began to be conceptualized.
As telescope was invented, the curiosity and the desire for Exploring the Moon grew tenfold among almost the entire erudite population of the world. If anything can be named as the achievement of the 20th century for us, humans, it is the Moon Exploration. Thousands of years of dreams and imaginations came true with the first man landing on the moon.
To this day, Moon Exploration is a thing of passion for many. Although after the success of Apollo 11, humans have refrained from going to the moon for over 30 years, there are people who have devoted their lives to the study of Journey to the Moon.
Scientists from NASA are now confident about the existence of water on the moon and they are getting ready to conduct more manned missions to the moon where almost everyone in this world, irrespective of age, background or gender, had dreamt of going to when they were children.
Exploring the Moon isn’t the only thing that scientists are concerned about; there are other important issues like hauling oxygen from there to support the increasing population of the earth and creating drinkable water from the hydrogen that’s found in abundance on the moon. That’s not all. Tourist trips and even colonization are also on the cards. And all of this is not planned by the governments only. Private expeditions are the next big thing in the field of Moon Exploration. A lot of wealthy people are determined to make it their claim to fame by launching the first, private and unmanned trip to Destination Moon.
In the backdrop of global warming, a lot of learned people think this could be the beginning of a new era of hope.
